NEW LOWEPRO FLIPSIDE ENJOYS SPORTING ADDITIONS

Posted: Thursday, May 31st, 2012

Lowepro has announced the launch of the Flipside Sport AW series – two new technical and lightweight daypacks that that offer active outdoor and sports photographers and enthusiasts quick and easy access to their gear when they are on the go. Both the Flipside Sport 15L AW and the Flipside Sport 10L AW incorporate a mix of practical features and sports performance, incorporating body-side access and removable camera compartment, and all weather protection as well as being lightweight for ease of carrying. The compact, low-profile shape of the Flipside Sport AW Series has been designed to be easily carried and manoeuvered making it ideal for professional sports, adventure and outdoor photographers with the Flipside Sport 15L AW carrying up to a Pro D-SLR with grip and attached 300 mm f/2.8 lens, whilst the smaller 10L AW will accommodate a D-SLR with attached 70-200mm f/2.8 lens.

Lowepro Flipside AW Sport

Perforated and breathable padding with air channels is strategically placed at the back panel and on the shoulder straps to provide comfort and moisture wicking properties for the back and shoulders. The unique, body-side access design provides an easy way to get to your gear without having to remove the pack, with access gained by unclipping the cross-chest strap buckle, removing one shoulder strap, rotating to the front before unzipping and accessing your gear, with the pack then being able to be used as a convenient and stable platform. To create even more flexibility for outdoor photographers, the Flipside Sport AW Series has also been created with a removable camera compartment including the classic Lowepro adjustable and padded divider system – but with an added dimension – the entire compartment being able to be removed, securely strapped with a storm-flap closure and put in a safe place whilst the pack is converted to a fully functional daypack.

Added comfort and convenience comes in the shape of a hydration-ready side pocket with space for a 1-litre reservoir (not included) and easy-to-reach port for a sip tube. There is also highly secure tripod attachment system at the side of the pack (accommodating a range of compact tripods or monopods) helping expand the carrying capacity whilst compressing the overall size of the pack. Further outdoor-friendly features include lashes for trekking poles/ice axe, a zip pocket inside the back panel, multiple adjustment points for a custom fit at the shoulders, chest and waist, Lowepro’s patented built-in All Weather AW Cover™ to protect gear from the elements and the lightweight, resilient and high-performance 210D triple-ripstop nylon with PU coating for improved durability. The Flipside Sport 15L AW will carry 1 to 3 extra lenses or flashes, a tripod or monopod, cables, memory, manual and extra accessories whilst the 10L AW has space for 1 or 2 extra lenses or flashes, a tripod or monopod , cables, memory, manual and extra accessories. Available in two colours: Lowepro Orange or Galaxy Blue; for more information on this product and other models in the Flipside series, visit www.lowepro.com.
